Whether you have kids in school or not...

Resuming of schools and churches impacts the ENTIRE community.  Whether or not you have children or you attend a church or you are returning to the office, our communities are returning to group gatherings.  More congregation means more potential for sharing of ALL germs, more chemicals being utilized for sterilization, and more challenges to our immune systems.  As schools, churches, businesses, and other congregations resume how do we protect ourselves and our loved ones?  During these times you may notice a slew of emotions and strong opinions coming from all sides.  Where is this coming from?  Is it possible it comes from a place of fear rather than knowledge and love? Fear of the virus, fear of business failing, fear of job insecurity, fear of being responsible for your child's education, fear of saying the wrong thing or alienating someone.

Will you allow fear to guide your decisions or will you rise to the challenge?

These days are unprecedented.  We are inundated with information and it is difficult to navigate the facts from the op-eds with today's social media approaches.  These times are hard, everyone's circumstances are different, and all of these decisions are difficult.

Do you look at challenges as opportunities or as road blocks?  My wise father always phrased a challenge or difficulty as an opportunity; and this has served us well on so many fronts!  Try it out today!  Instead of, "it is impossible to protect ourselves!"  Try, "what is one thing my family can switch to better protect ourselves?"

Did you see what happened there?  You went from being fearful and possibly a victim of circumstance to being an empowered individual with options!

If we can educate ourselves, share the helpful information with friends and family in LOVE and TRUTH, and choose the best decision for our family we will succeed as a community. Implementing or continuing a few healthy habits will protect us, our loved ones, our businesses, our finances from ALL SORTS of germs floating around out there.  

I am encouraging each of us to educate ourselves, love ourselves, and make the best decision for OURSELVES. What if this pandemic is an incredible opportunity as a nation, as a community, as a family, as a person to LIVE HEALTHIER?  Really establish healthy patterns and lifestyle choices so we can all live more abundantly ongoing!

Below are evidenced based guidelines.  

BACK TO SCHOOL (kids - Whether they are brick and mortar or not some of these steps will reduce your risk, improve focus and productivity, and lead to a healthier year)

  • Personal wipes:  With most school spraying or fogging each evening. To reduce absorption of toxins send a pack of toxin free baby wipes with your child to wipe their desk off each morning. I love the lavender wipes by Young Living for their calming effects and aroma.
  • Non-toxic hand sanitizer:  Each of my kids have a sanitizer for their desk, a small one in their lunch bag, and one hooked to their back pack.  We used my homemade recipe found here or Thieves as they contain the alcohol content plus immune supporting plants and none of the toxins.
  • Support their immune system.  My kids happily take one supplement in the morning and one-two at night.  No vitamins. These cover their antioxidants, gut health, and immune support. See our protocol in the library for full explanation and links.  
    • Before school:  1 ounce Ningxia Red
    • Immune roller to neck (see below)
    • Evening: Mighty Pro pro/pre biotic and antioxidant and Mightyzymes (digestive enzymes for overnight gut repair and enzyme productionP

  • Each morning roll the back of their necks with our rock-star blend, for improved focus, confidence, and immunity.
    • 5ml roller ball
    • 10 drops Valor
    • 10 drops Thieves
    • 5 drops Frankincense 
    • Fill with carrier oil such as grapeseed oil
  • If you are homeschooling don't be afraid to give them a 10min activity break.  Sometimes my kids literally run around outside in circles happy screaming to get their energy out and refocus.  
  • Deep breaths matter!  If you or they are frustrated teach them the 4x4x4 breathing or just 3-4 good deep breaths.  Bonus if you are diffusing nearby or they can run/inhale their roller.  Favorite diffuser blends:  Stress Away EO, Orange (4drops) + Black spruce (2 drops), Bergamot (4 drops) + Palo Santo (2 drops)

PARENTS: 

  • Don't forget your 4x4x4 breathing!! See blends above for my favorite to combine with this for the ultimate reset button.
  • Support your immune system.  Kids follow habits more than commands.  What they see you do, they do.  When they see you exercise, then they grow up thinking regular exercise is normal.  When they see you take your antioxidant shot, brain supplements, and eat healthy than they grow up believing this to be normal.  Once you get them off to school take a moment to set up YOUR routine.  
    • Deep breathing plus meditation/prayer (5min.)
    • Stretch or exercises (as little as 5-10 min can improve core strength and confidence and tone). See my exercises of the month on my Youtube or IGTV for simple calisthenics you can do anywhere!
    • If you can get in more exercise - GO FOR IT!  
    • Don't beat yourself up, empower yourself.  Focus on what you can do and your strengths.  See our abundance and gratitude practices in our library under healthy habits!
  • Be adaptive.  Often days don't go as planned.  Be willing to redirect and reprioritize.
  • As a good friend, Dr. Catherine B Simms of the Children's Institute, says "Children don't tell you they are struggling.  They say, mom will you play with me? or Mom, will you help me?"  Listen for those moments.  Sometimes we just all need a hug or a laugh or a break.  TAKE IT.
  • KEEP THE KIDS HOME if they or siblings have any symptoms (fever, taste change, upset tummy, cough and sneeze, extreme fatigue).  This helps contain and reduce viral load being spread throughout the schools and community and WILL HELP KEEP OUR COMMUNITY OPEN!
  • Teach your kids a song that will keep them hand washing for at least 20seconds.  Teach them that this is the standard that is expected now.

COMMUNITY:  It is pretty simple really.  Protect yourself, show grace to the parents and children trying their best to navigate the new normal, and share good information in love.  Everyone is struggling on some level right now.  Stressful times such as these often bring up old traumas, anxieties, depression tendencies. In addition, finances are really tough for many business owners and neighbors alike.  We are all in this together.  

Support, share, care, not judge.  We will get through this.

  • Wear your mask when you cannot social distance.
  • Stay home if you have any symptoms (fever, taste change, upset tummy, cough and sneeze, extreme fatigue).
  • Don't touch your face
  • Wash your hand when able (for 20 seconds)

  • This virus is not going anywhere.  We cannot hide from it.  The goal is to reduce viral loads to reduce severity of symptoms and health care system inundation.
