Longer days bring blossoms, bees, butterflies, and babies (animals)

April is a time of birth, regeneration, and hope!

 

A season of hope comes from the expectation of promises to be fulfilled.  When was the last time you sat quietly outside?  What do you notice?  Sit peacefully and listen for numerous different bird calls, wind rustling through different types of leaves, planes flying over head, trains rustling along the tracks.  Now open your eyes and see sunshine, butterflies, bees, grass, and weeds.  All signs of the world going around, rebirth, and regeneration.

While it looks like we still have a long haul of social distancing and isolation, MY HOPE is that you seize this opportunity to dig deep and find your strength, hope, and value.  Take this time to grow relationships, self-confidence, strength, gardens, flowers.  Plant seeds now that will blossom as time goes on.  I have heard it said to never underestimate the power of a seed planted. When this season passes the seeds we plant today will continue to bless or trouble us.  Whether it is the food we eat, the exercise routines we establish, the mindfulness that we learn, or the relationships we grow or spoil these seeds will help us succeed or hold us back as seasons past this year.  

 

Speaking of planting seeds, let's talk about literally planting seeds/seedlings.

We finished last month with a focus on fitness, endurance, and joint support.  If you missed out log into the library and click "wellness articles" at the top! We move on this month to focus on how to protect ourselves and our bodies as the days get longer we spend more time outside.  Garden is therapy for me.  Pullings weeds, watching seedlings pop up and grow, being surprised with blossoms and vegetables, time alone, or time in the dirt with the kids are all amazing therapy for me.  I feel more grounded, connected, and have a better perspective.  Basically, it keeps me from snapping at things and helps me appreciate the beauty around me.  Whether you have a large garden, a flower bed, or just a few pots outside your door I hope you spend some time in the dirt this next month.

To help your flowers and vegetables blossom I have released my garden recipes.  One is a natural recipe for weeds and ants, and the other is a recipe to support growth and deter pests.  Recipes are safe for kids and pets and the most effective I have found over the years.  Please note that the weed killer will kill everything it is sprayed on or is in the ground where it is sprayed.  Do not use where you are trying to grow anything soon. These recipes can be found in the library and both are proportioned for these gallon sprayers
